I’m kind of a makeup junkie. The best safe beauty brand is hands down Beautycounter. This may come as a shock for you all because I’m a “natural mama” but I like only to walk through a beauty store and swatch vision shadow colors up to my elbows. There is just something about the pretty colors and perfectly cute containers of makeup that makes me happy.
Since discovering that the majority of the products are highly toxic I have attempted to use safer products. I’ve tested all types of “natural” products and I’m always disappointed with the results. Beautycounter is the only brand I’ve tried that performs like some of the best Nordstrom brands with no nasty chemicals.
If don’t want to DIY your makeup join my Beautycounter FB group. I’m always pleased to color match with you. A lot of the BEST natural options are mineral powders but I’ve dry, textured skin true to my Type of Beauty. In case your curious about the Beauty Profiling System that change my life click reading more here or take the free course here. ANYWAY nutrient powder ends up giving me wedding cake face….NOT GOOD.
I’ve had lots of questions from visitors about makeup and a lot of you confess to being disappointed with mineral makeup because of the cakey look it offers. So into the kitchen I visited make my very own foundation with ingredients like cinnamon, cocoa natural powder, shea and oil butter. I looked like an orange clown.

But after performing a little more research I found out that liquid foundations contain harmful chemical preservatives to keep them from growing bacterias and mold. Mineral makeup is one of the ONLY kinds of makeup devoid of these chemical preservatives and pure, high quality minerals come with an indefinite shelf life. These are minerals from the earth, after all.
Using mineral makeup I created the most BEAUTIFUL, FLAWLESS and natural looking base. My husband offered the makeup his personal stamp of authorization…he even said it look better than the super costly foundation I’ve presently been using. I agreed with him! 1. Make a batch of my homemade face lotion or purchase high quality non-toxic face lotion here. 3. On the plate blend a dime size amount of lotion with a dime size amount high quality nutrient makeup -buy it here. 4. Once well combined apply with a basis clean or your clean fingertips.
5. You must mix your foundation daily because it does not contain toxic chemical preservatives – after a couple of days the cream blended with the minerals will grow mildew and bacterias. Tips: Because you combine this base yourself you are given a great deal of independence in terms of coverage. If you’d like very light coverage use less nutrient makeup and if you want more coverage use more nutrient makeup.
